Bev Peters, Director of Children's Ministries
I found my church family at Broad Street Presbyterian Church. I have had the opportunity to volunteer on numerous committees such as Pastoral Nominating Committee, BREAD Team and Grow Council as well as having been involved in the children’s program. It has been a joy as I learn right along with the children about God’s love for us. Now as the Interim Director of Children’s Ministry, I have the joyful position of working with the children and watching the Spirit guide them on their Christian journey.
My background is one of educator, coach, and facilitator. I retired as a middle school principal with more than thirty years in public schools. I taught physical education, wellness, and special needs children; as well as coached basketball, volleyball, and softball. I still work as a substitute teacher along with coaching second and third graders in basketball. I also instruct adults in water fitness. I am also fortunate to indulge in my love of history by being a Washington, D.C. guide for 8th grade field trips.
I am very thankful for my wonderful family that tries to keep me grounded. They remind me of the importance of living each day to its fullest which sometimes means just sitting.
As Director of Children's Ministires, I feel God’s kind push to learn more, do more, be more, and worship more fully.
