Jessica Commeret Myers, Associate Pastor
So I am young and into church. I know, a little weird, but I do this work because I think our faith can be that one thing in our lives that helps the rest make sense. And church is the place where our faith can be explored…
I work as the associate pastor of mission, helping our church care for others on the other side of the world and right next door.
I grew up in Grand Rapids Michigan and miss the snow. I went to Calvin College and graduated in 2000. I then served in campus ministry for a few years in Erie Pennsylvania and thought I would give the heat a try and moved to Atlanta to attend seminary. Candler School of Theology at Emory University was a great fit for me, with all of its diversity in thought, people and practice. I learned to really care for all of God’s children there—and the risk and challenge to which love calls us.
I work at Broad st. because this church helps people find meaning. This church challenges people to take what they do seriously in light of Jesus’ ways. I think God is really big, and powerful and wants the world to be fair and full of justice for all people. Take a Sunday morning and see if you might like to join us on this journey…
