Broad Street Presbyterian Church

Sunday Worship 8:45 and 10:00 AM

Fair Trade

"We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are."

- Anais Nin

We have learned that an important way to care for others is to try to see as they do. Educating about and promoting fair trade is a tangible way to try to understand and to offer change.

Fair trade principles emphasize the people who produce goods. Fair trade encourages them to develop businesses while it supports them with fair prices, training, adequate working conditions, community development and environmental sustainability.

All coffee served at Broad Street is fair trade, because we believe it serves the world as it serves us.  We also sell fair trade coffee, tea, cocoa and chocolate.

Sharing God’s grace, profits from these sales pay for obstetric fistula surgeries for women in Malawi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This simple surgery repairs a devastating torn bladder or rectum following childbirth.
