Global Ministry 2025 Giving Campaign
At Broad Street Presbyterian Church, we’ve long been inspired by our global mission partners, walking alongside those working for justice, healing, and hope. Because of your generosity, lives are being changed and communities strengthened. Thank you.
Here’s what your gifts are supporting in 2025:
Jed & Jenny Koball
continue their work in Peru. Though their PC(USA) roles are evolving, they remain deeply rooted in this work of accompaniment, justice, and partnership. Jenny will stay with the Young Adult Volunteer Program, and Jed will be helping shape what’s next in Global Ministry with our denomination. They ask us to remain patient, prayerful, hopeful, and supportive of the changes coming to the Presbyterian Church’s global ministry of presence in partnership. We look forward to seeing how God continues to call them now and into the future!
Mark Adams & Miriam Maldonado Escobar
will continue their work with Frontera de Cristo, a binational ministry on the U.S.-Mexico border. Beginning in 2026, they will be employed directly by Frontera de Cristo in partnership with Presbytery de Cristo and the Presbytery of Grand Canyon. Their leadership has been vital in expanding ministries that support and care for the most vulnerable like the Children’s Enrichment, Cafe Justo, Migrant Shelter and more.
The Good Shepherd Hospital in the DR of Congo
has been a long partner of ours and we will continue to support their work and ministry. Founded in 1954, IMCK – consisting of the Good Shepherd Hospital, clinics, and nursing schools – provides vital services to the people in this region. Good Shepherd Hospital is rated as one of the top hospitals in DR Congo.
Marion Medical Mission Shallow Well program
continues their efforts to fund wells in communities that need access to clean water in Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, and Mozambique. In 2024, they built 4,602 protected water wells, providing an estimated 450,000 people with safe drinking water.
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA)
aids and resources communities facing disasters around the globe, and we continue to support their general fund so they can use the resources most needed.
Youth Scholarships to Peru
A delegation will be going to Peru in 2026, and the cost is high for a trip like this. To help families access this trip, we will be fundraising to help offset the cost and ensure all can go.

Annual Campaign: Pledge Cards for 2025
Dear Broad Streeters,
How do we navigate the uncertainty of these days? During the uncertainty of elections, instability in global/national/local events, or life’s trials, our trust in God strengthens our hearts with faith and hope.
We connect to that faith and hope in many ways:
- A sermon hits home.
- A prayer opens our hearts.
- Serving others adds a bit more purpose to life.
- Connecting with another Broad Streeter brings light to our days.
Together through worship, fellowship, service and community engagement, Bible study and prayers we grow in our faith – together. We continue to build on an ever-changing faith community, something our church has been doing for over a century.
As co-chairs of the 2025 Stewardship Campaign, we invite you to take a moment to reflect on your faith, and how faith provides strength and peace in these times of uncertainty. This church community is a part of your faith journey, and a part of your life. For that reason, we invite you to participate in the annual campaign.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited about the first ever intergenerational spring break trip to Appalachia, exploring conversations about Israel/Palestine at the Dialogue at Dinner series, making visitor friendly improvements to the front of the church, and rolling-out Montessori based Godly Play Bible stories in classes and at children’s time.
Primarily due to inflation compounding over the last several years, in 2024 for the first time in many years, we have an anticipated deficit of approximately $100,000. The session is working hard to control ongoing expenses through innovation and re-examination with a plan to trim at least $70,000 from the 2025 budget. We will need to increase our revenue by 5% to set us on a sustainable path forward.
We urge you to reflect on your faith, and how in uncertain times, the church is our source of support, stability, and comfort–a place where we belong. To continue to grow in faith, serve our community and show God’s love in all the wonderful ways BSPC currently does, we ask you to consider a meaningful increase to your giving.
Yours in faith and hope,
Ellie Carter and Jim Curphey, 2025 Annual Campaign Co-chairs
