2018 Annual Campaign

Living a Life That Matters

All of us long to live a life that matters; one that makes a difference. While it may be our hope, it can be hard to know if our efforts are having the impact we desire. The annual giving campaign this fall at Broad Street Presbyterian Church focuses on what it means to live a life that matters. So, how do we know if our life is making a difference?

To help students better understand how to gauge if they are on the right track, a college in Texas has adopted the following guiding principles:

• Love something greater than yourself
• Leave places better than you found them
• Lead from wherever you are

Can you think of a time when you loved something greater than yourself? When you knew you had moved on from a situation and left it better than you found it? How did it feel? Doing such things can feel risky. And deeply meaningful. Our actions help make the world a more whole and just place.

What does this have to do with giving to Broad Street Presbyterian Church? Jesus calls us to take risks, love deeply and give of ourselves. He wants us to make disciples, feed the hungry, clothe the naked and spread his love to transform both people and the world. He teaches us that our actions and generosity make a difference.

Every day, we have the opportunity to be generous with the abundant gifts that God gives us—our time, our energy, our vision, our relationships, our love, our faith, and yes, absolutely, our money. Every day, we have the opportunity to create the world in which all of God’s children can flourish and grow. Our generosity makes a difference. It changes us and it changes the world. Please give generously to support the mission and ministry of the church in 2018.
